About Us
Our Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching started its education-training in 1992 under the name of "Department of Physical Education and Sports" as a department affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Fırat University.
It produced its first graduates in the 1995-1996 Academic Year. In 1997, with the decision of the Council of Ministers published in the Official Gazette numbered 23039, it was restructured as the School of Physical Education and Sports in accordance with the 6th article of the law numbered 2809 of the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education, and with the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 2014/6728 published in the Official Gazette numbered 29100 dated August 26, 2014, it was restructured as the "Faculty of Sports Sciences".
As of 2025, there are a total of 9 academic staff in our department, including 4 Professors, 3 Associate Professors, 1 Assistant Professor and 1 Research Assistant.
